My research focuses on developing advanced computational and constitutive models to understand and predict the behaviour of geomaterials under coupled hydraulic and mechanical loading conditions. My work primarily encompasses unsaturated soil mechanics, constitutive modelling in geomechanics, and numerical modelling using finite element and finite difference methods. Current research includes the hydro- mechanical behaviour of natural and compacted unsaturated soils; consolidation and seepage analysis; shallow and deep foundation behaviour; slope stability; soil-structure interaction; and the shear behaviour of unsaturated infilled rock joints. I am also interested in integrating data-driven approaches and machine learning with computational geotechnics to improve prediction accuracy and support the development of resilient and sustainable geotechnical infrastructure.
